Our Growing Garden

Hello there!

The last two years have been rewarding and challenging all at the same time. Last summer we built two large gardens (each 100 feet x 200 feet) and got about 1/2 of it producing. This year we have about 3/4s of those gardens in production.

We are spending time and effort to create healthy soil and plan to do more in the fall to get the garden prepped for next year so we can get a little quicker start. We are learning to be more effecient each season.

We also built a walk-in cooler that uses an AC unit and a coolbot and we added a couple of tools to our shed that have been real game changers. One was a wheel hoe with a blade on it and it has helped us stay ahead of the weeds big time.

So, while we aren't quite up to the full productivity and have had some challenges like restarting watermelons and a bunch of our pickling cucumbers (thanks June frost), we have made some real headway in other areas.

Our garlic harvest was great this year! It is currently curing. Most of our other crops are doing superbly. We have loads of potatoes to pull up yet and carrots still to come, along with lots of other good stuff.

Thought we would share a little about where we are at. We have been encouraged to continue growing, and are blown away with the support that we receive from our Southeast community. You are all amazing and we can't wait to continue to improve and get better and bring even more to you all!
